Education Challenges and Perspectives

Dr Alberto D. Valle Lima.

In today’s contemporary world, the topic we are going to deal with is extremely controversial and different authors have written about it and they generally do not agree in their points of view and criteria.
We are going to express ours taking as a starting point the consideration of some basic documents such as Educational Statistics of the UNESCO Regional Report for Latin America and the Caribbean of 2001, the Goals of Education For All discussed in Jomtien in 1990, the documents approved in the World Summit of Dakar on April 2000, and other available documents.
When analyzing the challenges and perspectives of education in this new millenium, we must specially focus the results we have reached up to this moment and what is sill left to do. On this basis, we can propose some strategies that could give solution to today’s real problems and to those we could face in the near future.
On the other hand, we can not pretend to say that we will go through all the possible edges of the problem presented. We just want to consider all those aspects that could be certainly important for all those persons dedicated to the teaching and education of young people and children.
The work includes:
* The educative systems in our countries
* Models used for the educative transformation
* The school transformation
* The educative research
