Internationalizing Leadership Education in the Caribbean: Critical Reflection on Central Connecticut State University's Experience in Jamaica: International, Global, Multicultural and Cross-cultural Education

The impact of Central Connecticut State University’s efforts in internationalizing higher education in the Caribbean cannot be underestimated. The role of the University’s School of Education and Professional Studies in this global initiative has been recognized. Within five years of the inception of its Masters program in Educational Leadership in Jamaica, the University has produced more than 250 Jamaican educational leaders. Presenters will showcase CCSU’s efforts in responding to the emerging global community, especially in developing educational leaders for Jamaican schools as well as providing insights into the efficacy of the literacy component of the program. The implications of the challenges of the program will also be discussed.
