Developing Web-based Applications: The Macromedia Approach

Ray Cafolla.

The challenge of developing engaging, interactive web sites has spawned a variety of technologies. Among the most popular approaches to developing such sights is Macromedia’s Studio MX. This suite consists of Dreamweaver MX, Flash MX, Fireworks MX, FreeHand MX, ColdFusion MX Developer Edition and the Flash Player 6. This paper presents an overview of the three products (Fireworks, Flash, and Dreamweaver) most likely to be used by educator’s seeking to develop interactive educational web sites.
